Roseanne: Season 10; What the Conner Family’s Been Doing Since 1997

Roseanne TV show on ABC: season 10 (canceled or renewed?)

(ABC / Adam Rose)

Roseanne is returning to ABC next month. Fans have been wondering what the Conner family has been doing since the series ended after nine seasons in 1997, and that question has been answered.

John Goodman said the following about the status of the Connors when the ABC series returns, per TV Guide, “The last 20 years, [we’ve been doing] pretty much doing the same [thing], scraping by.” The Conners will continue to be a working class family but Goodman promises that his character won’t have another heart attack this time around.

Roseanne Barr said that the family has been “getting older” and “watching the family grow.”

Laurie Metcalf says that sister Jackie is still working but it’s unclear what she does. Metcalf joked, “Jackie claims to have a job… We don’t ever see her at her job, so I’m not sure if she’s telling the truth or not.”

Sarah Chalke, who replaced Lecy Goranson as daughter Becky in season six of the original series’ run, will play a new character named Andrea. Andrea hires Becky to be her surrogate. Goranson says, “You will see several scenes between us, which I think are really fun.”

Beverly (Estelle Parsons), Crystal (Natalie West), Nancy (Sandra Bernhard) and David (Johnny Galecki) will also be back at some point during the revival. The latter had two children with Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and they are now divorced. No word on what D.J. (Michael Fishman) has been doing. Guest Christopher Lloyd will guest and will have a relationship with someone on the show.

The Connor family will return to ABC on March 27th with nine new episodes. Are you excited for the return of this series? Tell us what you think.
