Salem: TV Show Creators Promise “Exciting” Series Finale

Salem TV Show: canceled or renewed?

Salem will end its run on WGN America next month. The series was cancelled by the network earlier this month. Salem was the first original scripted series for the network, and it had a strong start.

However, ratings dropped since the beginning. During season three of the series, Salem is averaging “between 200,000 and 300,000 viewers in L+SD.”

The creators of the series did know in advance that season three would end the series, and they were able to prepare a proper ending for Salem.  Per a Deadline report, Brannon Braga and Adam Simon revealed the following about the series finale:

“We knew this would be the third and final season and were able to craft an exciting climax to Mary’s transformational saga.”

The pair also offered their thanks for being allowed to wrap the series in a good way for the fans. They said:

“We are grateful to WGN America and Fox 21 for being terrific partners and giving us free reign to create a satisfying conclusion—one we believe respects our love of storytelling and the show’s passionate fans. It was a magical experience to create Salem and we want to thank every producer, writer, director, actor and crew member, for all they have done to help us bring the world of Salem to life.”

Salem will air its series finale next month. Are you sad to see this series end? Tell us what you think.
