Samurai Jack: Season Five Renewal for Adult Swim Series

Samurai Jack

Jack is back! Today, Adult Swim announced that their popular animated series Samurai Jack will be back for a fifth season in 2016.

It’s been 11 years since the series was cancelled by Cartoon Network in 2004 after four seasons.

Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, Samurai Jack centers on a samurai who finds himself displaced from Feudal Japan to a futuristic Earth that is ruled by the shape-shifting demon Aku. During its initial run, the series garnered considerable critical praise, earning four Primetime Emmy Awards.

In February 2013, a Samurai Jack comic debuted that follows the storyline of the series after season four ended.
