She’s Gotta Have It has its lead! The series is coming to Netflix, and Deadline reported that Dewanda Wise is set to play Nola Darling. The series is based on the 1986 movie of the same name released by Spike Lee.
Deadline shared the following about Wise’s role:
“The series centers on Nola (Wise), a Brooklyn-based artist in her late 20s struggling to define herself and divide her time amongst her friends, her job and her three lovers … Wise’s Nola Darling is a sexually liberated, free spirited painter/mixed media artist.”
