What’s This TV Show About?
A scripted comedy on the HBO premium channel, Silicon Valley stars Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Jimmy O. Yang, and Suzanne Cryer. Change is on the way in season four. The Pied Piper guys are pursuing their video-chat app, PiperChat, but Richard (Middleditch) still wants to use his algorithm for better things. The HBO TV series parodies the tech world, even as the team continues to try to make its mark.
Season Four Ratings
The fourth season of Silicon Valley averaged a 0.41 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 812,000 viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 57% and down by 54%, respectively. Learn how Silicon Valley stacks up against the other HBO TV shows.
On May 25, 2017, Silicon Valley was renewed for a fifth season.
Season five will debut on March 25, 2018 at 10:00pm.

Telly’s Take
In early April, Clay Tarver was promoted to the role of co-showrunner, for a possible fifth season, which is a promising sign that I’ll need to seek sustenance somewhere else. Since Silicon Valley has been one of HBO’s top performers, I expect a renewal is more likely than not, as long as the ratings don’t suddenly tank.
