CMT is still trying to stay in the scripted TV series business. Although they cancelled Sun Records after only one installment, Nashville was renewed for a sixth season, despite Connie Britton’s departure. Now, its first sitcom — Still the King — is in its second season. Can it build on its audience? Will Still the King be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
Still the King stars Billy Ray Cyrus as Vernon Brownmule. The CMT cast also includes Joey Lauren Adams, Madison Iseman, Jon Sewell, Travis Nicholson, Leslie David Baker, Kevin Farley, and Justin Dray. In season two, Austin Swift guest stars as Tyler, the manager of Nashville’s premier music venue, The Bluebird Café. Arden Myrin and Natalie Dreyfuss have also joined in recurring roles.
The comedy centers on “Burnin’ Vernon” — a scandal-ridden, washed-up, one-hit-wonder who has been eking out a living as an Elvis Presley impersonator. He’s back out of jail and aims to reclaim music career, while being a good dad to Charlotte (Iseman). Since he may be the father of Debbie’s (Adams) unborn child, Vernon must balance his desire for fame with his family responsibilities.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The first season of Still the King averaged a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and 397,000 total viewers.
