Surface: Petition to Finish the Science Fiction Series

The sci-fi series Surface ran for just one short season of 15 episodes on NBC.

The show attracted a lot of fans who couldn’t wait to see how the story would be resolved. Unfortunately, the series was prematurely cancelled and several plotlines were left hanging. Who survived the tsunami? Will we ever know?

We, the undersigned, have faithfully followed the science-fiction series Surface. We were shocked and upset when the series was cancelled and the exciting storylines were left unresolved.

We ask that you find some way to bring the Surface story to a proper conclusion — preferably as a weekly series or as a TV or direct-to-DVD movie. At the very least, please publish a companion book to the series that would detail the story’s resolution. We are convinced that there is still a great market for this show.

Please bring us closure!!! I don't care that it's been 16 years! My Dad and I enjoyed this show together. He passed away and I would love nothing more than to at least have closure on this! Make a movie, do just 1 season, anything!

You left a huge cliff-hangover in the last episode of Season 1. Not cool! There are STILL a lot of fans who loved that show and I bet even more would fall in love with it now. Please bring the show back!!

I still rewatch this show periodically, and have been waiting for 16 years, in hopes of a continuation, or at least a conclusion to the story. Perhaps if you do not wish to finish it yourselves, you could option the rites to a streaming service, such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc. Respectfully, Chris

This show was loved by many people and deserves a chance to find its footing on a platform to bring the story to a satisfactory resolution. It was cancelled prematurely at a time before the genre caught on. The effects, screenwriting and story can be easier to accomplish with fans, and eager people needing to work!

This show in my honest opinion is one of the best Scifi shows that ever aired. Amazing plot line and the science that went behind making this airing is remarkable. I managed to watch the series again after 15 years and I must say, this show is ahead of its time. Please bring it back for more seasons.

I just finished watching the series myself and it was wonderful! I only heard of it just now because of the death of one of the stars, unfortunately. Please continue this series in his memory and to bring much-needed conclusion to the storyline!
