Survivor: Season 25 Ratings

TV show ratings for SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINESJeff Probst is back and CBS is hoping that the 25th installment, Survivor: Philippines, will be a ratings winner. The 2011-12 seasons both dropped significantly. Is it possible that Survivor could be cancelled — or at least be limited to running just once a season?

Below are the TV show’s ratings for the Fall 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Survivor will be renewed for another fall cycle. (The show’s already been renewed for season 26 which will air in the spring).

Survivor airs on Wednesday nights on CBS. There are usually 15 or 16 episodes per season.

Final season averages: 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.42 million total viewers.

Episode 25-15: Sunday, 12/16/12 (Reunion)
3.3 in the demo (+18% change) with 11.59 million (+12% change).
Season averages: 2.85 in the demo with 10.42 million.

Episode 25-14: Sunday, 12/16/12
3.3 in the demo (+18% change) with 11.59 million (+12% change).
Season averages: 2.83 in the demo with 10.36 million.

Compared to last fall’s premiere, the season opener was down by 6% in the demo (vs a 3.4 rating) but was up by 6% in the viewership (vs 10.74 million).


Reference point: The Fall 2011-12 season (South Pacific) averaged a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.95 million total viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
