Telly’s Take

Allow me to rip off the bandage. Although I’m a rather creative bird of prey, I can’t imagine that MTV would renew Sweet/Vicious for a second season. Currently, it is its lowest rated scripted show. For comparison, consider its cancelled TV series Finding Carter, Eye Candy, and Happyland. During their final seasons, these shows earned a 0.29, a 0.25, and a 0.18, respectively, in the coveted 18-49 year old viewer demo. If MTV does renew Sweet/Vicious, it will be because the cable channel thinks it can retool and better promote an admittedly critically well-received show. 4/28 update: MTV has cancelled Sweet/Vicious. Details here.
