Is Teen Wolf not ending after all? According to The Hollywood Reporter, MTV is looking to reboot the TV show with a new cast.
The supernatural drama is scheduled to debut its final 10 episodes starting July 30th at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The cast includes Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Dylan Sprayberry, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, and J.R. Bourne.
Speaking to THR, MTV president Chris McCarthy revealed he wants to keep the Teen Wolf franchise alive:
These characters and these stories have hit a peak. We are talking with Jeff [Davis] about how do we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series of podcasts and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple years.”
McCarthy says the Teen Wolf podcast is still in the early stages of development, but it is planned to launch after the Teen Wolf series finale this fall. The TV series reboot would follow. So how much time is that exactly? McCarthy revealed there could be a reboot as soon as a year from now:
We want to give it enough time to let the series finale marinate a year or so, and then when we find the right story and the right cast, look to resurrect it.”
