In week two, Big Bang remained at the same level as the first week’s 8pm episode with a 4.9 rating and 14.74 million viewers. Again, it easily won its timeslot, this time by a full ratings point.
Season average: 5.0 demo with 14.66 million.
Episode 05-02: Thursday, 9/22/11
The second episode of the night did even better than the first with a 5.1 rating in the demo and 14.94 million. It was in first place for the timeslot once again.
Season average: 5.0 demo with 14.62 million.

CBS gave us two episodes to kick off the season and they both did quite well. The first one attracted a 4.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 14.3 million viewers. That matched the year ago demo and was easily first in its the timeslot.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 12.61 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
