The Blacklist: Season Two Ratings

The Blacklist TV show on NBC: ratingsDebuting last fall, The Blacklist was the biggest new TV show of the season and even performed well in the ratings without The Voice as a lead-in. Can it survive a move to another night? Will the NBC execs regret giving it a full season renewal? Cancelled or renewed for season three? We’ll have to wait and see.

The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives (James Spader) who begins helping the authorities if a particular rookie agent (Megan Boone) is his partner. Now, the FBI works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. The other castmembers in this drama include Harry Lennix, Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, and Amir Arison.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

2/5 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist for a third season for 2015-16. Details here.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.

For comparisons: The first season of The Blacklist averaged a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.79 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
