The Breaks: Season One Ratings

The Breaks TV show on VH1: ratings (cancel or season 2?)While VH1 isn’t a big player in producing original scripted series, this cable channel has been in trying their hand at it for quite some time. Some have been a success in the ratings while others have not. How will The Breaks perform? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.

Airing on the VH1 cable channel, The Breaks stars Afton Willamson, Wood Harris, Mack Wilds, Antoine Harris, David Call, Evan Handler, Melonie Diaz, Sinqua Walls, and Ali Ahn. Season one guest stars include Tip “T.I.” Harris, Teyana Taylor, and Gloria Reuben. Picking up where last year’s TV movie left off. The Breaks TV show follows three young friends chasing their hip hop dreams in New York City in 1990. The series explores their successes and failures, as they attempt to make a mark on hip hop culture. The Breaks is inspired by journalist Dan Charnas’ book, The Big Payback, a nonfiction history of the hip-hop business.

4/28 Update: The Breaks has been renewed for season two and is moving from VH1 to BET. Details here.
