The Code: Season One Ratings

Years ago, JAG was cancelled by NBC after one season, but then CBS picked it up, and it ran for an additional nine seasons, before ending in 2005. The Tiffany Network’s NCIS franchise spun off from JAG and is still serving them well. Now they’re trying a different take on the format with The Code TV show. Can it too pass muster with the CBS audience and Nielsen households? Will The Code be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

A CBS military legal drama from creators Craig Sweeny and Craig Turk, The Code stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany, and Raffi Barsoumian. The story unfolds at the Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia and centers on the prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who work on the legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
