The Game: UK TV Series Cancelled, No Season Two

The Game TV show on BBC America: canceled, no season 2There won’t be a second season for historical drama The Game. The UK TV show has been cancelled after a short season of six episodes.

Set in the 1970s, The Game revolves around the complex invisible war waged by the MI5 to protect the country from Cold War threats. The cast includes Tom Hughes, Brian Cox, Paul Ritter, Shaun Dooley, Chloe Pirrie, Victoria Hamilton, Jonathan Aris, and Judy Parfitt.

The Game aired on BBC Two in the UK. Here in the United States, BBC America ran the six episodes in November and December 2014.

Series creator broke the news of the cancellation on Twitter via multiple messages, writing, “Sad to confirm that there’ll be no 2nd series of The Game. Very disappointing. But we were overwhelmed by the wonderful response. Thank you. And I have to say thank you to the extraordinary cast and crew. They were all stunning, it was an honour and a joy to work with them. Thank you for all the lovely messages about The Game. It really means a lot to me and everyone involved in the show”.
