TV show description:
From creator Andy Breckman, The Good Cop TV show is a Netflix original, based on the Israeli show of the same name, created by Erez and Tomer Aviram. The comedy centers on former NYPD officer Tony Caruso Sr (Danza) aka “Big Tony,” and his son, Tony Jr (Groban), who goes by TJ.
Lovable Big Tony was never exactly a stickler for the rules and is a little lacking in the honor department. Meanwhile TJ, a current NYPD Brooklyn-based detective, is straight-laced. Despite being an updated “odd couple,” the two live together and wind up as unofficial partners.
Big Tony, of course, is quick to offer TJ advice. And while the younger man likes to play thing by the book, sometimes he needs and even heeds his father’s candid street-smarts.
Series Finale:
Episode #10 — Who Cut Mrs. Ackroyd in Half?
TJ and Cora get a nightmare of an undercover assignment: pose as husband and wife. Meanwhile, Big Tony closes in on Connie’s killer.
First aired: September 21, 2018.
