The Jim Gaffigan Show: Season Two Ratings

The Jim Gaffigan Show on TV Land: ratings (cancel or renew for season 3?)The first season of The Jim Gaffigan Show didn’t do very well in the ratings but TV Land renewed it anyway. How will season two perform? Will the numbers rise or fall? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.

Set in New York City, The Jim Gaffigan Show revolves around a fictionalized version of comedian/author/actor Gaffigan as he struggles to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy, and an insatiable appetite. The rest of the cast includes Tongayi Chirisa, Adam Goldberg, Michael Ian Black, and Ashley Williams.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

8/22 update:  It’s been decided that there won’t be a third season. Details here.

Note: Because TV Land has been simulcasting this show on Nick-at-Nite, we’ve added a second chart for those numbers.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The first season of The Jim Gaffigan Show averaged a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 600,000 viewers on TV Land. Most of the episodes were simulcast on Nick-at-Nite and those averaged a 0.21 in the demo with 680,000 viewers.

Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
