The League: Renewed for Season Four by FX

The League season fourIt’s another win for The League. The FX comedy has been renewed for a fourth season of 13 episodes. Production will begin in the summer and they’ll begin airing sometime in the fall.

Starring Mark Duplass, Stephen Rannazzisi, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Katie Aselton and Jon Lajoie, The League revolves around a group of six friends who participate in a fantasy football league. The current third season has featured numerous guest stars including Seth Rogen, Jeff Goldblum, Sarah Silverman, Ray Liotta, Will Forte and Eliza Dushku.

The show’s audience has grown this season; currently averaging 1.7 million total viewers (up 25%) and 1.5 million in the 18-49 demographic (up 32%).

Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming for FX, said “The League continues to be one of our most successful comedy series both creatively and from a ratings standpoint. Jackie and Jeff Schaffer, along with our terrific cast, are doing wonderful work each week to make one of the funniest shows on television and we’re excited to order another season.”

A husband and wife team, the Schaffers created the show and also serve as executive producers and directors.

There are three episodes left in the third season of The League. One will air this Thursday night, December 15th, and the remaining two will be run on Thursday, December 22nd.
