The Morning Show will be missing one of its stars for its fourth season. Julianna Margulies will not be returning to the Apple TV+ drama series, per Variety.

The drama series, which stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm, and Nicole Beharie, follows the staff of a network morning news program.

Marguiles played Laura Jackson, a seasoned reporter who fell hard for Bradley (Witherspoon), but their relationship had some issues. The actress joined The Morning Show during season two.

It is not known how her exit will be explained in the Apple TV+ series. Margulies was offered a single episode appearance for the show’s fourth season but turned it down. There is a possibility that her character could return in some capacity if there’s a fifth season.

Margulies will soon be seen on Broadway, acting with Peter Gallagher in Left on Tenth, an autobiographical play written by Delia Ephron. The actress also stars in Edward Burns’ upcoming film Millers in Marriage.

Deadline reported last week that Marion Cotillard will join the cast of The Morning Show as Celine Dumont, a savvy operator from a storied European family.

The premiere date for season four of The Morning Show will be announced later.

What do you think? Have you kept up with this Apple TV+ series? Are you disappointed that Margulies won’t be a part of the fourth season?
