TV show description:
A high concept thriller, this TV show follows Doctor Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City.

When a plane lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport with the lights off and doors sealed, Eph and his team –including Nora Martinez and Jim Kent — are called upon to investigate. Inside, they find 200 corpses and four survivors.

Later, the bodies start disappearing from the morgues and the team soon realizes that it’s a mysterious viral outbreak — one with the hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, the team and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers are forced to wage war for the fate of humanity.

An intelligent and driven biochemist, team member Martinez (Mia Maestro) is in love with Eph but understands he’s trying to repair his marriage, and she encourages him to be a part of his son’s life. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Nora moved to the US with her mother when she was eight.

Jim Kent (Sean Astin) has a wife dying from cancer. In an effort to save her life, Jim makes a poor decision early on that puts everything into jeopardy.

Kelly Goodweather (Natalie Brown) is Eph’s estranged wife who’s become smarter and more secure since separating from him. A school teacher by day, her focus is on their 11-year-old son son, Zack (Ben Hyland) — a asthmatic, quiet and self-reliant boy. He is her life’s work and her legacy. Her boyfriend, Matt Sayles (Drew Nelson), moved in with them and he is more available (and subservient) than Eph ever was.

Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) is a pawnbroker in his 80’s who has the vigor of a much younger man. In his early teens, Setrakian first encountered the Ancient vampire known as the Master (Robert Maillet) during his internment at a Nazi concentration camp. Setrakian failed to kill him then — and has spent his life waiting and preparing for another opportunity.

Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) is a wealthy, esteemed businessman and the owner of the Stoneheart Group. He has struggled with his poor health all his life, but he does not planning on dying.

The Master’s chief lieutenant is Thomas Eichhorst (Richard Sammel) who retains his human appearance and more individuality in order to walk among the living. During the second World War, he helped run the death camps — which is where he first encountered Setrakian and the Master.

A charismatic, second-generation Russian from Brooklyn, Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) is the best exterminator for the NYC Bureau of Pest Control. He considers himself the steward of NYC.

Augustin ‘Gus’ Elizalde (Miguel Gomez) is a Latino gangbanger from Spanish Harlem. He wants to do well by his mother who fought to make a good life for him. When Gus agrees to make some quick cash, it’s too much money to say “no”. Soon, he is wondering what kind of mess he’s gotten himself into this time.

Gabriel Bolivar (Jack Kesy) is one of the four survivors of the Regis flight 753. He’s a world famous rock star with a penchant for women and drugs. His stature and popularity make him especially enticing to the Master.

Series Finale:
