The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien: NBC Wiping Out Remnants and Mentions of O’Brien

Though The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien went off the air on January 22nd, Friday was the last day for most of the show’s employees. According to former Tonight Show blogger Aaron Bleyaert, it was the day that they had to pass in their parking passes, office keys, NBC badges, etc.

Bleyaert is still working until the 19th but went in on Friday to say some goodbyes and take photos of the offices being packed up and the elaborate set being destroyed. Andy Richtor posted an official-looking Eviction Notice from the Board of Health on his door.

Here are a couple photos that Bleyaert took of the greenroom and deconstructed set. Head on over to his blog to see more of the depressing images.

The images are quite a contrast to the construction video that NBC posted late last May. Like the rest of the O’Brien videos, that one’s been removed by NBC. You can watch O’Brien give Access Hollywood a quick tour of the set and greenroom, back when the host had such high hopes for the program.

The network has taken down the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien website and has wiped all mentions of O’Brien from the NBC site. Rachel Sklar also notes that O’Brien’s image has already been deleted from the NBC lobby mural.

Interestingly, the network doesn’t have a problem airing reruns of the show for a few more nights.

What do you think? Are these images depressing to look at? Could NBC handle this situation any worse?
