Kat Graham is in her seventh season as witch Bonnie Bennett on The Vampire Diaries TV series. At the January 6, 2016 People’s Choice Awards, Graham said she thinks it might be good to end The Vampire Diaries at seven seasons. Watch her interview, below.

Even though co-star Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) left The Vampire Diaries after season six, co-creator Julie Plec recently said she will continue the show, as long as Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder want to. Graham feels somewhat differently.

Speaking of Somerhalder and the People’s Choice Awards, when he reminded his Instagram followers to vote for him, his post suggested this season might be the end of The Vampire Diaries. Check it out:

The CW is moving The Vampire Diaries from its six and a half season Thursday night slot, to Fridays. Network president, Mark Pedowitz says that move is not to exile The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off, The Originals. It is meant to build up Friday nights. Read our story.

In its seventh season, and the first without Dobrev, The Vampire Diaries ratings are somewhat anemic.

As of the December 10th episode (the last before winter hiatus), the show had a season average rating of a 0.56 in the 18-49 demographic, and a average total audience of 1.178 million viewers.

The sixth season of The Vampire Diaries averaged a 0.72 rating in the 18-49 demographic, with an average of 1.54 million total viewers.

As for Graham’s comments about ending The Vampire Diaries after its seventh season, here is what she said:

I think that it could be the right time, yes. I think that it’s important to go out when the show is strong and I think it’s important to see characters storylines’ through. And you know what? If it was the last season, I would still be thrilled because seven years on a show is a beautiful journey.

And I still remain close with the writers and Julie Plec, and the cast. And you know, it’s important for actors not to be in the same thing for years and years and years and years. When there’s a story to tell, you tell it. When there’s not, you close the door and open up another book, and start that story.

Hear it from the lady, herself:

A model, singer, and dancer, as well as an actress, Graham has recently been cast as Jada Pinkett Smith, in the Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez on Me.

Do you agree with Graham or with Plec? Should The CW cancel The Vampire Diaries TV show after the seventh season, or renew it for an eighth? If they keep making the show, will you keep tuning in? Sound off, in the comments.
