The Vampire Diaries: Season Four Ratings

The Vampire Diaries has been The CW’s biggest ratings winner for quite awhile but for how long will that trend continue? Will one of the network’s new shows surpass it? We’ll have to wait and see.

Revolving around a pair of vampire bothers and the young woman they both love, the fourth season of The Vampire Diaries typically airs on Thursday nights on The CW network. The cast includes Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Steven R. McQueen, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig, Michael Trevino, Matt Davis, and Joseph Morgan.

Here are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if The Vampire Diaries is going to be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season.

Year-to-year, the show was up by 7% in the demo (vs a 1.5 rating) and up by 3% in viewership (vs 3.1 million). It also provided a great lead-in for the premiere of Beauty and the Beast.


Reference point: The 2011-12 season averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.81 million viewers.
