Thursday, 9/29/11
This installment came down 9% when compared to last Thursday’s episode with a 3.9 rating with 12.17 million viewers. That’s nothing to sneeze at but hardly a serious second week decline. Cowell and company were in second place at 8pm (opposite Big Bang) and in first at 9pm.
Thursdays average: 4.1 demo and 12.34 million.
Wednesday, 9/28/11
The reality series was down by 7% when compared to last week’s episode and garnered a 4.1 rating with 11.86 million. With the exception of Modern Family at 9pm, X Factor won the three other half-hour timeslots.
Wednesdays average: 4.3 demo and 12.18 million.
Thursday, 9/22/11
Opposite stiffer competition, X Factor held its numbers with a 4.3 in the demo and 12.51 million viewers. It ranked in second place at 8pm (after Big Bang Theory) and in first place at 9pm. Year-to-year, compared to the season debut of Bones, the network was up 41% once again in the demo.
Wednesday, 9/21/11
If FOX was hoping for the next American Idol monster hit, they were surely disappointed. However, the series premiere certainly brought solid numbers. The two hour episode registered a 4.4 in the demo with 12.49 million viewers. It won its timeslot at 8pm but was beaten by Modern Family at 9pm. Year-to-year, FOX was up by 41% in the demo (over Hell’s Kitchen) so that’s certainly very positive.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
