Seeso, NBC-Univeral’s new streaming comedy channel has announced the premiere dates for two new original series. Watch the “first look” trailers, below. Above Average’s Thingstarter TV series, a workplace parody of Kickstarter, premieres May 19, 2016.
The new Hidden America with Jonah Ray TV series — a mock travel show starring and executive produced by comedian Jonah Ray — premieres June 2nd. In its first season, Hidden America with Jonah Ray will visit US cities including: Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta, and Austin.
Thingstarter features a startup that develops ridiculous yet “plausible” products. It then takes them into the real world to get feedback from real people. One product the show features is “iNotRacist.” The app awards points for doing “not racist” actions. The six 15-minute episode series will be available on Seeso, May 19th.
Created and executive produced by Lucas Klauss, Matt Moskovciak, and Ben Stadler, the scripted Thingstarter series introduces reality elements, during the real-world feedback stage. Jen Danielson, Ashley Bearden, and Poole executive produce for Above Average. The Seeso series is based on the short-form Thingstarter web series, from Above Average.

Billed in press materials as a “Bourdain-esque” travel series, Hidden America with Jonah Ray, follows Jonah Ray to major US cities. Seeso says it will “feature some of the biggest names in comedy.” The nine half-hour episode series will debut June 2.
Hidden America with Jonah Ray is described as “A fake travel show where the places are real but the people aren’t.” Troy Miller (Arrested Development, The Office) is also executive producing the series, with Alex Murray and Todd Sellers. The show is produced by Dakota Pictures.
