Although last year, demo ratings for the To Tell the Truth TV show dropped a skosh, it rose in terms of average total viewers. Now back for a fourth season, can it post growth in both columns? Will To Tell the Truth be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An ABC game show, hosted by Anthony Anderson, To Tell the Truth features a panel of four celebrities who are presented with three people who all claim to be the same person with the same incredible talent, job, or achievement. One is sworn to tell the truth, while the others are not. Panelists this season include Oliver Hudson, Justin Long, Snoop Dogg, Amanda Seales, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Ron Funches, Kirstie Alley, Angela Kinsey, Alyssa Edwards, Fortune Feimster, and Adam Rodriguez. Anderson’s mother, Doris, returns with commentary, too.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The third season of this ABC version of To Tell the Truth averaged a 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.89 million viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
