Trophy Wife, The Goldbergs: ABC Orders Three More Scripts

ABC has ordered three additional scripts for Trophy Wife and The Goldbergs, their two new sitcoms that air on Tuesday nights.

Both comedies have been declining in the ratings each week but apparently ABC isn’t giving up on them yet.

Goldbergs, which has the benefit of airing out of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, is averaging a 2.2 demo rating with 6.45 million viewers. Last night’s episode dropped nearly 16% in the demo week-to-week.

Airing after The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife doesn’t have as strong a lead-in. The sitcom is averaging a 1.6 demo rating with 4.97 million total viewers. This week’s episode dropped 7% in the demo.

Though ABC ordering additional scripts is a positive move, it should be noted that the networks haven’t committed to have the episodes actually filmed yet.
