Trust Us With Your Life: Pulled, As Good As Cancelled?

trust us with your life on ABC pulledABC has pulled Trust Us With Your Life from the schedule. While the comedy improv series hasn’t been officially cancelled, it might as well be.

Trust Us With Your Life debuted on July 10th and ABC has been airing a pair of 30-minute episodes each Tuesday. The show started off weakly with a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.34 million viewers. The numbers have gotten worse with each installment and the last one drew just a 0.6 in the demo with 1.83 million.

Following Fred Willard’s recent arrest, ABC was likely hoping that the additional press might draw a bigger audience. It worked for Charlie Sheen and Two and a Half Men a couple years back but it didn’t help here.

The network ordered just eight episodes of Trust Us and six have aired so far. They had scheduled a rerun and an original episode for tomorrow night (with guest David Hasselhoff) and a repeat and an original installment (with Jane Seymour) for next week.

ABC has decided to air reruns of Wipeout instead. ABC may have made the switch because of NBC’s Olympic coverage or may just feel like they couldn’t do much worse in the ratings.

The network hasn’t said if the two remaining episodes of Trust Us With Your Life will see the light of day at a later date or if they’ll stay on the shelf. Either way, it seems highly unlikely that ABC will order a second season.
