On NBC, The Voice registered a 4.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 13.31 total viewers. That was followed by Go On which drew a 3.3 in the demo (down 3%) with 9.3 million viewers). The New Normal dropped 12% in the demo to a 2.2 rating and 6.2 million — not an unusual decline for a second week but not a positive sign surely.
At 10pm, Parenthood finished the night with a 1.8 demo rating and 5.04 million viewers. Week-to-week, it was down by 5% in the demo. Hopefully this will be the end of this family drama’s declines but it doesn’t seem likely considering that the other network competition hasn’t even kicked in yet.
On FOX, we had the two hour season finale of So You Think You Can Dance. It attracted a 1.6 demo rating with 4.63 million viewers. That was up by a mere 7% when compared to last week’s Tuesday installment. It was down by 20% when compared to last season’s finale.
On ABC, we had a pair of repeats in the 8pm hour — The Middle (1.1 in the demo with 4.18 million) and Last Man Standing (1.1 rating with 4.18 million). At 9pm, the alphabet network ran a special edition of 20/20 called The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time With Barbara Walters. The two hours drew a 1.6 in the demo with 7.41 million.
At CBS, the network continued to air repeats in anticipation of the new season. At 8pm, NCIS drew a 1.6 in the demo with 10.18 million. That was followed by two hours of NCIS: Los Angeles with a 1.5 demo and 8.06 million.
And finally, The CW ran two repeats — drama Hart of Dixie (0.3 rating with 0.68 million) and reality competition The Next (0.2 rating with 0.59 million).
What do you think? Are you surprised that The Voice grew last night? Will it keep going? Will the other Tuesday shows on NBC keep declining? Why do you think SYTYCD dropped this season? What were you watching last night?
