Taking place during the American Revolutionary War, Turn follows a group of friends who become spies and help turn the tide of the war. The cast includes Amy Gumenick, Angus Macfadyen, Burn Gorman, Daniel Henshall, Heather Lind, JJ Feild, Jamie Bell, Kevin McNally, Meegan Warner, and Seth Numrich.
The show debuted on April 6th to 2.12 million viewers. In week two, the series dropped 12% to 1.87 million and week three dropped 25% to 1.40 million. Turn has been dropping nearly every week and has fallen to a low of just 1.08 million.
Will the show be cancelled? It’s difficult to predict what a cable channel like AMC will do because they have so few scripted series to compare. It’s certainly not positive that the ratings have dropped but they aren’t nearly as low as Low Winter Sun’s from last fall. Plus, last week’s debut of Halt and Catch Fire didn’t do much better with 1.19 million viewers.
AMC could go either way with this one but I suspect that it will be renewed for a second season. We’ll have to wait and see.
But, what do you think? Have you been watching? Should the Turn TV series be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
