Deadline reports the Twinsters TV show project has been put into development at ABC. The single-camera comedy comes from Juliet Seniff, David Caspe, and Davis Entertainment. Caspe created Marry Me, which was cancelled in 2015, after one incomplete season on NBC. He also created Happy Endings, which was cancelled in 2013, after three seasons on ABC. Casey Wilson starred in both series.

Deadline says, “Written and co-executive produced by Seniff with Caspe overseeing, Twinsters is based on the 2015 documentary of the same name. It tells the story of identical twins separated at birth, adopted on two different continents and raised completely unaware of each other until they are reunited at age 29.” Caspe, John Davis and John Fox are executive producing at Sony Pictures TV.

An actress, Seniff has written for the Angie Tribeca, Lady Time, and Your Family or Mine TV series. She is also a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Here is more, from Deadline:

The project is described as a completely fresh twist on an odd couple show that explores and celebrates the complex meaning of family and forming your own identity.

This is the third sale this season for Davis Entertainment, along with comedy Start Up starring and directed by Zach Braff and written by Matt Tarses, which has a put pilot commitment at ABC, and another put pilot, a David Shore/McG action drama at Fox loosely based on I Spy at Fox.

The documentary Twinsters, which premiered and sold at SXSW in 2015, is based on the life story of Samantha Futerman and Anaïs Bordier. Futerman co-directed and co-produced the film with Ryan Miyamoto. Here’s a trailer:
