Undateable: Season Two Renewal for NBC Sitcom

Undateable TV show on NBC: season 2NBC has renewed their low-rated summer sitcom Undateable for a second season. Executive producer Bill Lawrence tweeted the news and wrote, “Overexcited to do 2nd season of a Undateable on NBC. #pickedup.”

Undateable follows a group of single friends who are trying to figure out the fine art of relationships. The cast includes Chris D’Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches, Rick Glassman, David Fynn, and Bianca Kajlich.

The series debuted in late May to a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.84 million viewers. The ratings declined over the course of the season, falling as low as a 0.6 demo rating with 2.24 million. The season averaged a 0.9 rating with 2.78 million.

While those numbers certainly aren’t good, they aren’t bad if you consider the series aired during the summer — and how poorly NBC’s regular comedy series performed during the regular season.

What do you think? Are you glad that Undateable has been renewed for a second season or, should it have been cancelled instead?
