Van Helsing has some new company. Recently, Syfy announced Missy Peregrym has joined season two of the TV series.
Based on the novel Dracula, the supernatural drama centers on Vanessa “Van” Helsing (Kelly Overton), a descendant of the legendary vampire hunter. The cast also includes Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Paul Johansson, David Cubbit, Vincent Gale, and Tim Guinee.
In season two, Peregrym will play “Scarlett Harker, a woman with a mysterious past who might help turn the tide against the vampires.” Syfy has not yet announced a premiere date for season two of Van Helsing.

LOS ANGELES – March 15, 2017 – Nomadic Pictures (Fargo, Hell On Wheels) announced today that Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue) has joined the season two cast of action series Van Helsing. The 13-episode, hour-long drama, which airs on Syfy in the U.S., reimagines the timeless Dracula brand with the resurrection of Vanessa Van Helsing, the next in line of a lineage of warriors who now must lead mankind against a world controlled by vampires. Peregrym will play Scarlett Harker, a woman with a mysterious past who might help turn the tide against the vampires.
Award-winning, writer-director Neil LaBute has returned as showrunner. The series, slated to return this fall, is currently in production shooting in Vancouver, BC.

Missy Peregrym is a Canadian actress and former fashion model best known for her role as Officer Andy McNally on the ABC and Global Television Network series Rookie Blue.
Van Helsing is produced by Nomadic Pictures. Executive producers are Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev from Nomadic Pictures, showrunner/writer Neil LaBute, Evan Tyler (Industry Works), Dave Brown and Zadoc Angell (Echo Lake Entertainment), as well as Daniel March (Dynamic Television). Dynamic Television is also handling the worldwide distribution for the series, excluding first run U.S. television and Canada.”
