Veronica Mars: Rob Thomas Wants to Do a Six Episode Revival

Veronica Mars TV show: canceled or renewed? Rob Thomas wants to make new season of the Veronica Mars TV show (canceled or renewed?)

A long time ago, we used to be friends, but if I said I hadn’t thought of Veronica Mars lately at all, I’d be lying. Over the summer, star Kristen Bell admitted she and Rob Thomas would love to make a Veronica Mars TV show revival if they can make it work. The series originally premiered on the now defunct UPN network and famously spawned a fan-funded feature film sequel in 2014.

Now TV Line reports Rob Thomas said a potential Veronica Mars revival would likely consist of six hourlong episodes. The noir mystery series also starred Percy Daggs III, Jason Dohring, Francis Capra, Enrico Colantoni, Ryan Hansen, Tina Majorino, Brandon Hillock, and Christopher Lowell.

Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell Want to Revive the Veronica Mars TV Show

Thomas told the news outlet, “Kristen and I both want to figure out some way we could do a six-episode Veronica Mars mystery. If I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen. I just don’t know when it will be.”

Here’s more from TV Line:

Two likely complications/obstacles: Bell’s commitment to NBC’s The Good Place and Thomas’ in-the-works Lost Boys remake for The CW. “We need to find a window where we could both do it,” he explained. “When actors are on network shows, most standard contracts will give them outs for, like, one episode a year of guest-starring. But then there are also sometimes outs if you’re doing something that is non-competitive. Would NBC consider a Veronica Mars thing on, like, Netflix non-competitive? We have not figured that out yet.

“Also, I’m developing Lost Boys,” he adds. “If those things weren’t happening, we might be closer to a Veronica Mars [continuation]. The Good Place, I think, is going to be on NBC for a while. And if Lost Boys goes, finding that window will be tricky. But we both want to do it.”

What do you think, Marshmallows? Do you still miss the Veronica Mars TV show? Would you like to see a revival on a streaming platform like Netflix or Hulu? Finally, would it be worth getting taped to a pole? Let us know, below.
