Veronica Mars fans shouldn’t expect a new season anytime soon, but there is still hope for more of the series in the future. Season four of the series premiered on Hulu in July, and the finale did not make fans at all happy.
Rob Thomas did explain his decision about the way things ended for Veronica and Logan after the premiere, and he also spoke about the plot of a possible fifth season. He does have ideas for what will come next for Veronica Mars. Her character is played by Kristen Bell.
He said the following about his ideas for a potential season five and a new direction for the series, per TV Line:
“[I already have a] couple ideas in my head, one of which is very Agatha Christie-[esque]. It won’t be this exactly, but some version of Murder in a Manor House. Something that is so explicitly detective-y… I want to really lean into that we are a detective show… I feel like Season 4 was the bridge season, to take us from half soap opera/half mystery show to full detective/mystery show.”
However, Hulu is not looking to order a fifth season at this time. It could still happen, but it might take time.
