Can you dig it? Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, of Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier fame are developing The Warriors TV show with Paramount and Hulu. The Russos executive produced the Animal Practice TV show which was cancelled after six of nine episodes aired on NBC. They also served as executive producers on cancelled series Community and Happy Endings.

The brothers will reimagine the 1979 Walter Hill film of the same name, for television. The cult-classic feature was based on Sol Yurick’s 1965 novel. Deadline says, “Their take will honor the original film while adding its own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence. The Russo brothers will team with writer Frank Baldwin on the series. The Russo brothers will direct the pilot, although no word yet as to any directing commitment beyond that.”

The duo are also helming Avengers: Infinity War parts one and two, for the big screen.

What do you think? Have you read The Warriors novel and/or watched the 1979 movie? Who is in your dream cast for The Warriors TV series? If Hulu orders the show, will you check it out?
