Web Therapy: TV Show Cancelled; No Season Five on Showtime

Web Therapy TV show on Showtime: canceled, no season 5It looks like online therapist Fiona Wallice’s sessions are over — at least for now. Showtime has cancelled the Web Therapy TV show after four seasons. The news was confirmed today by network President David Nevins.

Created by series star Lisa Kudrow, Web Therapy revolves around a self-serving psychotherapist named Fiona Wallace as she doles out advice to clients via short webcam sessions. It began as a web series and then moved to Showtime in July 2011. The first three seasons were mostly culled from content from the web episodes.

The ratings for the fourth season, which finished airing in January, were quite low. Many of the episodes attracted a 0.01 rating or lower in the 18-49 demographic with roughly 50,000 viewers.

While Web Therapy won’t continue on Showtime, Kudrow and company could certainly bring the low-budget series back for more installments at some time in the future.

What do you think? Do you like the Web Therapy TV show. Should it have been cancelled? Would you watch a fifth season?
