Where Are They Now: Some Green Room Chatter for May 23, 2008

Sooner or later our favorite TV shows all come to an end and the cast and crew all go their separate ways. If we’re lucky, our favorite performers return in new shows and movies. Here’s where you’ll be able to see some of them.

Sasha Alexander (Dawson’s Creek) is currently working on Tenure, an indie film that stars Luke Wilson (That ’70s Show), David Koechner (Still Standing), and Michael Cudlitz (Standoff). The movie’s a comedy and centers around a college professor who competes for tenure with a hot-shot female colleague.

Michelle C. Bonilla (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) is booked to film Montana Amazon. The film stars Olympia Dukakis (Center of the Universe) and Haley Joel Osment (Murphy Brown), and features veterans like Veronica Cartwright (Leave It to Beaver, L.A. Law) and Ellen Geer (Falcon Crest).

If you’re in the New York City area, you can see Bebe Neuwirth (Cheers) perform a one-woman show at Feinstein’s. The two-time Tony winner sings a variety of Broadway songs from composers like Kurt Weill, Stephen Sondheim, and Kander & Ebb. Capacity is limited to 150 people and the show runs until May 31st.

Kelly Hu (In Case of Emergency) has landed a lead role in Anna Chi’s Dim Sum Funeral. The movie follows a group of estranged Chinese-American siblings who reunite after the death of their mother.

Pamela Adlon (Lucky Louie) has been booked for a series regular role on Showtime’s Californication series that stars David Duchovny (The X-Files). Adlon’s role was previously a recurring one.

Trevor Wright (George Lopez) has snagged a starring role in Eric Bross’ Vacancy 2. The horror movie follows three young people who check into a small inn, unaware of the employees’ less-than-kind intentions.

Wendy Glenn (Reunion) has landed a lead role in an indie film called Mercy. The romantic flick also stars Dylan McDermott (Big Shots). Production is currently under way in Los Angeles.

Rosie O’Donnell (The Rosie O’Donnell Show) and Fran Drescher (The Nanny) are teaming up to star in their very own sitcom. The New Thirty follows a pair of old high school friends who live in the same Manhattan apartment building and are facing midlife crises. No outlet has been announced.

Joey Lawrence (Blossom) has been tapped to host a new dance competition show for The Learning Channel. Master of Dance premieres on June 8th and will feature dancer’s abilities by changing a song mid-performance. Only performers with a full repertoire and great flexibility will be able to claim the $50,000 grand prize. Stay tuned!
