Louie: FX Comedy Renewed for Season Three

Louie season threeYou may recall a few years ago that Louis C.K. and his Lucky Louie series was cancelled after just 13 episodes on HBO. Well the comedian is having much better luck on basic cable. His FX comedy, titled simply Louie, has just been renewed for a third season.

The news was announced today at the FX portion of the TCA press tour but comes as no surprise. The second season is doing significantly better than the first year. To date, it’s averaging a 0.6 rating in the prized 18-49 demographic and 1.1 million viewers.

Louie (Louise C.K.) works part-time at the local muffler shop and spends the rest of his time caring for his four-year old daughter Lucy (Kelly Gould). His wife Kim (Pamela Adlon) is a full-time registered nurse who provides most of the family's financial support and runs the household. The untraditional arrangement can be tricky but the Louie and Kim always work it out.
