TV show description:
BBC America’s first original comedy follows the journey of aristocratic brother and sister Georgie (Ed Gamble) and Poppy (Amy Hoggart) Carlton as they fulfill their father’s dying wish and embark on a Royal tour of the USA.
Fiftieth and fifty-first in line to the British throne, the naïve pair travel across the Land of the Free, expanding their horizons by meeting real Americans, learning about the culture and giving something back.
Following the tragic shooting accident which killed their father, Georgie is struggling to cope with the responsibility of looking after the family estate. He is duty bound to be the best ambassador possible for the British people and become the man his father never thought he would be.
Poppy, on the other hand, has high hopes for finding fame and sees this trip as an opportunity to launch her profile and possible career, whatever that may be.
Narrated by Gemma Whelan, this mockumentary is a parody of fly on the wall TV — using the improvisational skills of its two stars to dupe unsuspecting members of the public while giving us an insight into their lives.
Episode #18 — Holiday
Poppy and Georgie learn about American holidays; giving a speech at a Thanksgiving parade and eating dinner with a host family.
First aired: February 8, 2016.
