TV show description:
On this reality show competition, a group of designers gather in New York City to face-off in the name of fashion.

Hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum, designers compete in a weekly timed challenge where they must create a garment that will be worn buy models on the runway. Weekly challenges are as creative as the contestants and have included the designers constructing new uniforms for USPS carriers, creating an outfit from used denim, making a dream wedding gown as described by their model, crafting a figure skater costume, designing a gown for a red carpet event, and even creating an entire ensemble from whatever can be found at a grocery store or flower shop.

Designers receive advice, reassurance and, at times, a little tough love from mentor Tim Gunn while working on their challenges at Parsons School of Design. But judges Klum, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia aren’t quite as kind when assessing the designer’s creations.

Each episode, the contestant with the lowest score is sent home with an “auf wiedersehen” from Heidi. The final three designers who do “make it work” have the opportunity to create their own line of clothing that is featured at New York’s fashion week.

The designer who wows the judges the most at Bryant Park receives $100,000 to start their own fashion line, a feature in Elle magazine with their model, and a mentorship with a designer.

Project Runway was for the past 10 years, a breath of fresh air, even with the combative designers. It was entertaining. But, now there seems to be no information as to a continuence of this program. Seasons 2004-2113 are over and the “Under The Gunn” was not the best effort. I was hoping That there would be more of the regular Project Runway with… Read more »
