TV show description:
On this reality competition series, six champion figure skaters and six celebrities pair together to out spin, out lift, and out lutz the competition to take home the title.
The competition is hosted by swimming Olympian Summer Sanders and professional figure skater and Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton. The six couples are Kurt Browning and actress/singer Deborah Gibson; Nancy Kerrigan and comedian Dave Coulier; John Zimmerman and TV personality Jillian Baberie; Jenni Meno and actor Todd Bridges; Lloyd Eisler and actress Kristy Swanson; and Tai Babilonia and decathlon Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner.
They perform a new routine for the judges during each episode. Each installment challenges the celebrities to learn a new figure-skating skill such as a spin with three revolutions, synchronized footwork, side-by-side jumps, and above the shoulder lifts that must be performed in their performance. Each team is assisted by figure skaters turned choreographers Michael Seibert, Randy Gardner, and Renee Roca, who practice with each team before the skaters face the judges.
The panel of judges includes world renowned figure skating legend Dorothy Hammill, coach John Nicks, and journalist Mark Lund. Contestants are scored on both technical and artistic merits and the team with the lowest score pack their skates and is eliminated from the competition.
