TV show description:
Based on the Criminal Justice TV show from the BBC, this dramatic series delves into the intricate story of a fictitious murder case in New York City.
The series follows the police investigation and legal proceedings, all the while examining the criminal justice system and the purgatory of Rikers Island, where the accused awaits his trial.
A Pakistani-American college student who lives in Queens in New York, Nasir ‘Naz’ Khan (Riz Ahmed) uses his father’s cab one night. He intends to attend a popular party and he picks up a young woman.
After a night of sex and drugs with the woman, he wakes up to find her stabbed to death but has no recollection of what happened. Naz leaves the scene but is arrested for a minor traffic violation and ends up at a police station. The police find a weapon in his possession that matches the suspected murder weapon and different witnesses identify him.
Naz is soon interrogated by detective Dennis Box (Bill Camp) and the accused eventually gets a lawyer — world-weary defense attorney Jack Stone (John Turturro).

Stone is thrust into the spotlight as a controversy involving the defense emerges.

Please renew this series for another season! It was honest and explores the unfairness in our judicial system. It had great character development, it explored racism within our twisted court systems and had hidden metaphors throughout. It shows how one simple mistake or action can change the course of your whole life. The creator is a genius! Bring it back for round 2 please!
I REALLY LIKED THIS SHOW FROM BEGINNING TO END!!!! I DID THINK IT WAS A LITTLE SLOW IN LETTING US KNOW THAT NAZ WAS INNOCENT!!!! AND WE DIDN’T GET TO SEE THE ACTUAL MURDERER GET CONVICTED!!!! BUT MAYBE IT’S BECAUSE I’M A LITTLE IMPATIENT BECAUSE I WATCH LAW & ORDER: SVU AND OTHER SIMILAR SHOWS THAT SOLVE CASES IN 1 EPISODE!!!! LOL!!! THIS SHOW SORT OF REMINDS ME OF THE SHOW MURDER IN THE FIRST WHICH IS ANOTHER SHOW THAT FOCUSES ON 1 CASE THE WHOLE SEASON!!!! I just recently watch ‘The Night Of’ ‘ and fell in love with the realistic story. Now I discovered this was first aired in 2016 and no clear dicision for a season, this is terrible. Not to many well told stories these days and finally when I get into one, they ran out of material. That’s why I usually don’t watch series. If HBO doesn’t play another season, I’m going to stop my subscription, so in the future maybe they won’t play shows that don’t have a clear ending or more than one season.
