TV show description:
A psychological thriller based on the Kem Nunn novel, the Chance TV show centers on Eldon Chance (Laurie). A forensic neuropsychiatrist living in San Francisco, Dr. Eldon Chance finds himself drawn into a perilous case involving his patient, Jaclyn Blackstone (Mol).

With a failed marriage, a load of IRS debt, and his challenging teenaged daughter, Nicole (Owen), Chance already has his hands full. On top of that, he is the kind of man who feels haunted by those patients he just can’t save.

Nicole is a good kid, but she is at that age where she craves her freedom, yet still needs her father. Her parents’ divorce has only intensified her conflicted feelings. Right now, she’s vulnerable and confused.

Because his work requires him to delve into the minds of others, it is no wonder Chance becomes involved with the troubled Jaclyn. Is she opening up to him or manipulating him into taking on her abusive spouse, homicide detective Raymond Blackstone (Adelstein)?

Chance turns to D, i.e. Darius Pringle (Suplee), to help with his crusade. As if from another time and place, D has fashioned himself into a warrior and weapons expert. Bookish, inquisitive, and sharp, D seldom puts much faith in others. This laconic and suspicious man uses his antiques restoration work as a cover for his true calling.

Chance finds himself driven to fight for Jaclyn and his other troubled patients with a fervor even he finds surprising. Can he keep his penchant for vigilante justice in check or, perchance, will it take over his life? Stay tuned.
