Wipeout: Ratings for the 2011-12 TV Season

Here are the ratings for Wipeout, the game show in which contestants make their way through an over-sized obstacle course in pursuit of a big prize. The fifth season of Wipeout typically airs Thursday nights at 8pm on the ABC network.

2.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.39 million viewers; second in the timeslot at 8pm, first at 8:30pm.
Season average: 2.70 in the demo with 8.39 million.
Demo average rank: #3 of 9 non-scripted TV shows on the network (Fall 2011 – Spring 2012).

Compared to season four’s debut a year earlier, the network was down by 29% in the demo and down by 28% in total viewership. Still, the season five premiere was strong enough for Wipeout to rank as the third-highest rated non-scripted show of ABC’s season, outperformed by the fall’s Dancing with the Stars performance and results shows.
