Wynonna Earp: Season Two Premiere Announced; What’s Ahead for the Syfy Show?

What’s next for Wynonna Earp? Variety reports season two of the Syfy TV series will premiere in June.

The supernatural drama follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures in the town of Purgatory. The cast includes Melanie Scrofano, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Tim Rozon, and Shamier Anderson.

Season two of Wynonna Earp debuts on Syfy on June 9th. Speaking to Variety, showrunner Emily Andras revealed there will be some identity crises in the upcoming season:

Waverly Earp does not even think she’s an Earp. There are a lot of crises of identity across the board. We’re going to look at the idea of free will this season, because a lot of our characters are thrust into situations where they don’t feel like they’re making their own decisions.”

Andras also mentioned there will be a new character next season: Rosita (Tamara Duarte).

She’s recruited by Doc to help the team. She shows up and shakes up a lot of relationships on the show.”

Overall, she says, season two will amp things up:

The stakes are higher than ever. Because we really examine the nature of family. Can you ever be a good person if you’re someone who is forced to make life-and-death decisions? At the same time, there is a lot of fun. These people really like each other. They make time for that.”

What do you think? Are you a fan of Wynonna Earp? Are you excited for season two?
