A Year To Remember: NBC Commits to Drama Series Based on Telenovela

A Year to Remember TV show on NBC: season 1 (canceled or renewed?)

Eva Longoria’s Telenovela TV show comedy was cancelled in May after one short season on NBC. Now The Peacock Network is taking a more serious look at the genre. A Year to Remember has received a script commitment plus penalty from NBC.

The A Year to Remember TV show pilot is an English language adaptation of the Telefe telenovela Un Año Para Recordar. The drama hails from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Telefe USA. Writer Michael Foley will executive produce with Kaplan, Dana Honor, Telefe USA’s Diego Piasek and Telefe’s global content exec. Tomás Yankelevich.

Here is more, from Deadline:

The adaptation, written by Michael Foley (How to Get Away with Murder), is a crime procedural that centers on a Boston homicide detective who’s confronted by her husband over an affair she’s having with her partner. In their ensuing fight, she accidentally kills him – only to wake the next day to find it’s a year earlier — her husband still alive, the affair not yet begun. Given a second chance, she somehow must find a way to keep the memory of that tragic night from becoming reality.

What do you think? Do you like the sound of A Year to Remember? If NBC orders it as a TV series, will you watch?
