Yellowstone wrapped the first half of season five on Sunday night, and viewers now know they’ll have a long wait before they see new episodes. Paramount Network has released a teaser video announcing that season five of the neo-Western drama won’t resume until this summer.
Starring Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Wendy Moniz, Jen Landon, Kathryn Kelly, the modern day drama follows the Dutton family, the owners of the largest ranch in Montana, and their various conflicts. At the start of the fifth season, patriarch John Dutton III (Costner) became the state’s governor.
Paramount Network revealed more about the series’ return in a press release.
Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.
From Academy Award(R) nominee Taylor Sheridan, season five features a critically-acclaimed ensemble cast including Oscar(R)-winner Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham and Gil Birmingham with Mo Brings Plenty, Wendy Moniz, Jen Landon and Kathryn Kelly upped to series regulars. The upcoming season will also feature the return of Josh Lucas as young John Dutton alongside Jacki Weaver, Kylie Rogers and Kyle Red Silverstein with Kai Caster, Lainey Wilson, Lilli Kay and Dawn Olivieri joining the star-studded cast.
Yellowstone is co-created by Oscar(R)-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Wind River, Hell or High Water and Sicario) and John Linson. Executive producers include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari and Stephen Kay.
An exact premiere date will be announced in the future. A prequel series starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, 1923 will continue to unfold on Sundays on the Paramount+ streaming service.
