The Young Pope: Season Two in the Works for Jude Law Series

The Young Pope TV show on HBO

The Young Pope may be here to stay. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a second season of the upcoming HBO series is already in the works, before its season one debut.

From THR:

Just as with season one, Italian company Wildside is currently developing the second season, and will take it to partners HBO, Sky and Canal Plus for co-financing as soon as Sorrentino finishes the script.

“We are of course hoping to do it,” said Sky Italia chief of content Andrea Scrosati, “but nothing is signed yet.”

From Paolo Sorrentino, the drama stars Jude Law as Lenny Belardo, the youngest and first American pope in history. The cast also includes Diane Keaton, Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli, Sebastian Roché, Daniel Vivian, and James Cromwell.

The Young Pope, a co-production between HBO, Sky, and Canal Plus, premieres in the U.S. early next year.
