A horror TV show, Z Nation begins three years after a zombie virus has gutted the United States. A ragtag band of everyday people must work together to transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California to the last functioning viral lab. The cast includes Harold Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls, Kellita Smith, Michael Welch, Anastasia Baranova, Russell Hodgkinson, Pisay Pao, Nat Zang, and Keith Allan.
To date, the first season of the series has averaged 1.45 million viewers with a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It’s currently the cable channel’s highest-rated series in the demo.
The Z Nation Twitter feed broke the news of the renewal this way: “BREAKING: Ready for more z’s?! #ZNation has been picked up for a 2nd season on #Syfy!” No word yet on how many episodes have nbeen ordered yet.
